It’s admirable when writers point out gaps in their knowledge. But it’s less admirable when they say they don’t know facts that no one could possibly expect them to know, employing that well-worn chestnut, “It remains to be seen.”
For example, a website for lawyers writes about a newly filed lawsuit:
“It remains to be seen whether any of these allegations…
